Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. As always there are tons of special meals, enormous buffets and super fancy dinners being served around Beijing for the big day (Thu Feb 14). Here's everything you need to know about what's going on in the city this Valentine's Day.

Jing-A

Enjoy a sweet deal on dinner and drinks for Valentine's Day at Jing-A Brewpub. For just RMB188 you'll get one beer flight, one BBQ platter and one pie in a jar. That's comfortably enough food to share, but if you've got a big appetite and a big heart, splurge and you and your special friend can each get an individual set!

Q Mex

Q Mex has whipped up a Valentine's Day set menu for all you lovebirds. Start with an avocado salad with mandarins, cranberries and roasted almonds in an agave orange vinagreitte, followed by a shareable surf 'n turf platter of sliced filet steak and grilled shrimp skewers. End with a decadent dark and white chocolate mousse cake. They'll even have themed cocktails like the Love Potion Martini and Strawberry Lillet Crush.

Slow Boat

For Valentine’s Day, Mosto has prepared a special menu that will turn up the heat even in the frostiest of weather. Begin with starters to share, like the imported French oysters with pink pepper and caipirinha sorbet, and a red bean foam with shredded pork, avocado and crispy capers. Choose from two indulgent main options: the Icelandic cod fish with white beans, chorizo, glazed carrots and leek foam, or a roasted beef tenderloin with purple potato, morel mushrooms, green pepper corn sauce and asparagus. Follow it up with a duo of desserts as sweet as your other half!

Bottega has created a special menu at both locations for all you lovers this Valentine’s Day. Treat your other half to delicacies like grilled baby octopus, sous-vide wagyu filet with mashed potatoes and cheesy heart-shaped pizza with a walnut puree and herbs. They've prepared some festive specials for the occasion including Spanish sardines, scallops with cauliflower puree, roasted cod with squid ink noodles and a lamb rack with eggplant puree.

El Barrio is also getting into the lovey-dovey spirit. On Valentine's Day, the restaurant will have themed specials like sopes Mexicanos and juicy camarones. After indulging in main dishes, get your sweet tooth fix with their rich and creamy flan.

Zarah is boycotting the fairytale version of Valentine’s Day and its celebration as a commercial couples’ parade. Instead of a mushy-gushy Valentine’s Dinner, they're throwing a 'Saint Valentine Remembrance Party' in order to cheers to the martyr of the 3rd century with live DJs until late and an all-night happy hour offering all of their open wines and prosecco at just RMB30 per glass . From 7-10pm they'll have a delicious three-course set menu at RMB188 for singles and RMB376 for couples, including a glass of sparkling wine per person.

Jing inside The Peninsula Beijing have curated a five-course modern European recipe for eternal love, featuring premium oysters, caviar, duck foie gras ravioli and a devilish Valentine’s Delight dessert. At Huang Ting, classical meets contemporary Cantonese cuisine, as Chef Simon Leung will prepare a seven-course dinner with tempting treats such as barbecued beef shank in a five-spice sauce, double-boiled chicken soup with wild mushrooms and steamed lobster with yellow wine. A mango cream with sago pudding is the perfect treat to end the night with. Serenaded by live piano and surrounded by timeless Chinese artistry, couples can gaze lovingly into each other’s eyes over a Valentine’s Day afternoon tea in the refined grandeur of The Lobby.

Hulu & TRB

Hulu will have a festive menu for Valentine's Day, available through February 17. The themed dishes feature succulent steak, a fresh lobster salad and a heart-shaped dessert. But Valentine's Day isn't just for couples! TRB Hutong and TRB Forbidden City are celebrating families too with a spectacular set menu on February 14 and 15.

Around Valentine's Day, the hotel's state-of-the-art F&B brands will offer special deals for lovers who want to spend a romantic night in style. The renowned Ming Court restaurant offers a set menu that you can upgrade to transform into an all-out couples retreat, featuring a private dining room, a bouquet of red roses and a spa voucher for two. Cordis Market has instead prepared a buffet dinner that includes little romantic gifts and complimentary cocktails, but if you're looking for just an after-dinner option, you can stop at The Tune, Cordis's upscale bar, where you can try the two Valentine's Day signature cocktails – The Gentleman and the Lady in Red.
